Kitchen Project - Glebeside

The spirit of Voysey continues within some of the special work Treske design and make for customers; in this case for an Arts and Crafts loving customer who have made their kitchen a celebration of Voysey design.

In the style of Voysey, the design emphasises the verticals with narrow tapering pilasters and a typical Voysey capital. Doors are left plain with flat panels but use traditional strap and H hinges to complete the artisan work, and are used across the kitchen island, display and storage areas. Hearts are used on tall cabinetry pierced through the panels, and match those used elsewhere in the house.
The cream, four-oven AGA is a key focal point with a substantial bold pippy oak corbelled over-mantle that incorporates bespoke storage cupboards and a specially designed leaded glass countryside scene created for this kitchen.
The positioning of the Aga mantle and the island give the kitchen a balance and symmetry. The island with its painted doors and drawers contrasting to the surrounding oak cabinetry, functions as a breakfast bar with ample worksurface and storage. A bespoke open dresser provides a strong display. The sink is placed between two windows balancing the view from the rest of the kitchen. An Aga fridge is housed on the other kitchen wall surrounded by two larder cupboards and drawer storage.

A utility with simplified cabinetry provides a practical washing area complete with a full height wall cupboard for excellent levels of storage.
