A great admirer of design in all forms, Mike's designs draw on Art Noveau, Arts and Crafts, as well as Impressionist painting. Inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and Charles Voysey, Mike’s designs pay homage to the Arts and Crafts movement. Whilst his interests go on and on, he is most at home gardening and walking on the rolling hills of Yorkshire.
A proud former member of the Winksley cum Grantley Young Farmers Club, Lucy is now looking after the next generation of young farmers. Lucy’s interests include Arts & Crafts and creating great kitchen designs for our customers.
An outdoors veteran of working on ranches several days from help in the wilderness, John has now settled for the civilisation of North Yorkshire. As a keen furniture maker himself, it is worth nothing that John's favourite furniture item is the iconic Finn Juhl Easy 45 armchair. A talented family man, John also cooks and fries a wide range of American culinary delights, from burgers to wings. A fierce Strava competitor, he can often be seen running around the streets of Thirsk, keeping himself active whilst listening to country music, especially Johnny Cash.
Inspired by design and technology at school, he graduated in Furniture making and design from Bucks University. In his down time, Simon relishes hitting the road on his bike, cycling through Yorkshire, his favourite route in particular? Reeth. When he is not designing furniture or cycling through the Dales, Simon is a skilled mechanic.
Sean’s hobbies include and producing a prodigious output of woodwork ranging from bird boxes to household furniture from his shed and Karate which, although not in current use, he keeps in condition for by lifting heavy weights at the gym. A classic Honda trail bike is currently being rebuilt from bits to bike to move him between tea shops in favourite holiday spots around the Lakes, Wales, and Cornwall. A currently unfulfilled ambition is to skydive – yes, you’ve guessed it - in the Karate kit.
An avid chicken Parmo fan and famed for a level of Instagram following most people could only dream of, Lewis is a fearsome karate competitor - possibly developed whilst he was an undergraduate at Teesside University's Product Design course. Night outs in the town centre will be quiet once Lewis starts planning his ideal holiday in Thailand. A keen Spurs fan, Lewis is looking forward to the new stadium experience when he next gets the chance.
Sarah in between her work of organising the designers and their work with customers, is a keen gardener. Her music tastes combine her interest in vegetables with music, to the extent of turning much of her garden into a good life allotment creating an oasis of ground-breaking root crops in true homage to sounds of the 80s and 90s. When not with plants, Sarah has favorite walks in the local area around Thirsk and especially the Seven Bridges walk around Fountains Abbey with her dogs – Charlie a big friendly Staffordshire and his best friend Jasper a Chihuahua who love regular stops at country pubs.
Patrycja packs more into each day than most people – often listening to her choices of Tracy Chapman and Queen music. With a keen interest in interior design developed during her degree in Interior Architecture and Design at Bialystok University of Technology in Poland and at Castelo Branco in Portugal, Patrycja is a font of ideas and knowledge. Currently doing up their new house the Tomaszuk family enjoy bike riding around Herriot Country and visits to their favourite beach to surf at Saltburn.
All of Steve’s spare time is taken up with looking after his children, however, he would like to resurrect his motorsport viewing at Croft and Silverstone. A future goal for Steve is renovating his dream home for his family.
Well known for colourful descriptions and lucky shots on the local golf course, Phil is a regular pub pop quiz champion with his carefully chosen team. A regular festival goer, frequently attending the Willowman and Beat Herder, Phil has recently seen Paradise Palace and would love to combine a wish to play golf overseas and watch the Stone Roses live.
Lee’s favourite way of displaying timber is when customers come to see the selection of matched boards for large tabletops. He is also a regular attendee at motorsports shows, especially enjoying technical advances in motor engineering.
A former professional photographer, Richard is inspired by the French photographer Louis Daguerre, who invented the Daguerreotype. When he is not being creative, Richard is an avid sailor and a talented archer, having up competitive Field Archery, he has since qualified for the Scottish National Championships near Whitby.
In John’s work shed is a part finished Canadian Canoe just waiting for launching once he has retired. Continuing the North American theme, Shaker furniture is a great inspiration for John's cabinet making.
Solving the mystery of how Chris knows all about garden tea parties and cakes for teddy bears, is obvious when you discover his love of learning about sleuthing and detective work can be applied to keeping his daughter amused! For this former keen footballer, surfer and all-round sportsman, Chris is at his happiest with his family and playing guitar.
As soon as it starts raining, H starts running for the river. The search for pike has brought him major success, reaching acclaimed fame with front page news on Angling times reporting on his 24lb 12oz catch! Our best and most loyal Newcastle supporter, his spray room is dedicated to past glories at St James's.
Philip loves seeing different parts of the country and finding time to walk and draw. Often touring on his motorbike, he is a keen collector of memorabilia.
Miles was brought up in the Howardian foothills of North Yorkshire. These gentle hills, The Hobbit and LOTR as well as Miles keen visual design skills honed at Nottingham Trent University, have helped stimulated a wide interest in universal science fiction films and universal stories. When not reading, Miles is a keen Stillington squash club member and avid follower of boxing.
This Essex lad is now 40 years a Yorkshireman and loves getting out into the North Yorkshire countryside – or even better flying over the top of it having been winched off Sutton Bank in a glider – but never as far as his favourite Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Steve is up for most challenges, including a lifetime of support for the Arsenal, however walking in the dales, birdwatching, kayaking and finally placing the much-transported potted garden plants into the ground are more familiar pastimes. The sounds and songs of the 70’s and 80’s accompany Steve wherever he is.
Outside work Justin is a devoted trout and salmon fisherman, which adds to his outdoor activities that consist of playing golf, gardening, and hill walking. When he is not outside, he is indoors fulfilling DIY tasks that he has set himself.
A keen camping and walking enthusiast, regular family holidays take place in the Lake District and Dumfriesshire. Russell's current design inspiration is the colourful geometric art of Paul Klee and Treske’s very own Arts & Crafts range.
When he is not making furniture or rebuilding his house, Mark likes to watch cars to race on track and in drifting competitions. The peak of his track career recently hit a new high, not anything else, whilst driving a Nascar on the Daytona track while on holiday. Mark enjoys the mechanical and technical challenges that racing and building his own cars provide.
Karen would most like to see more alternative rock music live, such as her current favourites, Twenty One Pilots. She is also a frequent filmgoer, with an enthusiasm for visual culture - which carries through to theatre, and musical performances. She also has a strong interest in all things Welsh.
Sue, when not solving the never-ending problem of keeping the showrooms clean, is a keen birdwatcher and helps with the local Thirsk Brass Band. With a great love of the Alps, she regularly tours the sights of Austria.
