A Harrogate period style house and owners with a preference for traditional furniture meant that Treske’s designers needed to be empathetic to both the context and the clients’ taste for their home office needs. First however they fulfilled the brief: to create specialist storage and bookshelves to display collections of books, objects and glass. Combinations of cupboards and drawers of varying sizes and at different heights were broken up by custom designed shelves for the clients’ specialized collections.
Hand crafted in solid oak, the detailing is traditional in style with fluting on the uprights creating the look of a library pilaster. The burr oak panels are a distinctive decorative feature of the study which adjoins and is partly open to the living areas of the house. This is a distinguished solution to the clients’ desire for handsome furniture providing for a significant amount of complex storage and display.
