The University of Edinburgh, New College commissioned Treske to supply 120 bespoke, fully upholstered, solid oak dining chairs, 23 solid oak dining tables and a bespoke lectern for Rainy Hall.
The chairs were covered using a specially selected, hard wearing, contract suitable fabric. This red woven fabric was chosen as it picked out the dominant red details in both the ceiling and heraldic shields on the panelled walls of the hall.
The solid oak tables for this project were supplied in two separate sizes (1500mm x 900mm and 1800mm x 720mm) to allow maximum flexibility and the option of creating several different seating and dining layouts.
Treske were also commissioned to design and make a speaker’s lectern which needed to incorporate the University of Edinburgh emblem. The project was carried out whilst working closely with New College, Edinburgh together with the project architects, Consarc Design Group, and the main contractor Ashwood (Scotland) Ltd.
